Habitat

• One out of every 10 species of fauna and flora of the world exists in Colombia.
• Colombia has lost more than 30% of its native forest due to deforestation. Only 27% of the cloud forests remains, and 98% of the Caribbean tropical dry forest has disappeared.
• For every 10 mammals smuggled out of the country, 9 die. Out of 100 birds smuggled, only one survives!
• Colombia possesses an estimated 45.000 - 55.000 plant species, surpassed only by Brazil with 55.000 - 60.000 species.
